FINANCIAL AID

The League of Amazing Programmers is a not-for-profit, IRS 501(c)(3) public benefit institution founded for the purpose of teaching kids Java. The school is operated primarily by unpaid volunteers and does not generate profits. Financial aid is offered only to students from families with limited financial resources.

Currently we are focused on providing scholarships for students in grades 5-9 that reside in the Diamond District area of San Diego and would attend classes at the Malcolm X Library (a map of this area is available here). For students who do not meet this criteria, we invite you to submit a Financial Aid Application. Applicants will be notified as soon as new funding becomes available.

If your child attends a Title 1 - Schoolwide funded school, then you can apply for a 50% reduction in monthly class tuition (check the status of your child's school here). This 50% reduction applies to regular monthly class tuition only, not work shops.

If your child participates in the Federal Free and Reduced Lunch Program, then you can apply for 100% financial aid for work shops and regular classes.

To apply:

  1. Please print out FINANCIAL AID APPLICATION

  2. Request “Proof of Enrollment” in the Federal Free and Reduced Lunch Program from your child's school.

  3. Submit the "Financial Aid Application", “Proof of Enrollment” and signed "Waiver" to The League. Proof can be mailed to our mailing address: The League of Amazing Programmers, 12625 High Bluff Drive #113, San Diego, CA 92130, or scanned and emailed to: scheduling@jointheleague.org

Please note:
  • All paperwork must be received for your application to be considered.
  • A separate application must be made for each student applying for a financial aid.
  • Financial aid must be renewed every year.
  • Regular attendance is required. If a student is not attending classes regularly, League reserves the right to disenroll student from the program.
